The InterChat inbox system provides a centralized location for managing notifications, direct messages, and important updates related to your hubs and connections.

Understanding the Inbox
Your inbox collects various types of notifications:
- Hub invitations
- Moderation actions affecting you
- System announcements
- Appeal responses
- Important network alerts
The inbox helps you stay updated on important events even when you're not actively monitoring a specific channel.
Accessing Your Inbox
Use the inbox command Type /inbox in any channel where InterChat is present.
Click the "Open Inbox" button When you receive a notification, you'll often see an "Open Inbox" button that you can click to directly access your inbox.
View your messages Your inbox will display all your notifications, with the most recent at the top. ### Read and manage messages Click on messages to view their full content and take any required actions.
Inbox Features
Message Categories
The inbox organizes messages into categories:
- System Messages: Important announcements from the InterChat team
- Hub Notifications: Updates about hubs you're connected to
- Moderation Alerts: Information about moderation actions
- Appeals: Updates on blacklist appeals you've submitted
Message Management
You can manage your inbox with these actions:
- Mark as Read: Messages are automatically marked as read when viewed
- Delete: Remove messages you no longer need
- Filter: View specific types of messages
- Take Action: Some messages include action buttons for quick responses
Notification Indicators
When you have unread messages in your inbox:
- The
/inboxcommand will show a notification indicator - You may receive a DM for particularly important notifications
- Some notifications will appear in the connected channels

Common Inbox Notifications
Hub Invitations
When you're invited to join a hub, you'll receive an inbox notification with:
- The hub name and description
- Who invited you
- Buttons to accept or decline the invitation
Moderation Actions
If you're affected by a moderation action, you'll be notified with:
- The type of action taken
- The reason provided by the moderator
- The hub where the action was taken
- Appeal options (if applicable)
System Announcements
The InterChat team occasionally sends important announcements about:
- New features
- Maintenance schedules
- Policy updates
- Security information
These announcements will appear in your inbox to ensure you don't miss them.
